If you’re going to Gulf Wars XIX, come over to the Green Dragon Tavern on Tuesday night to see Ken Theriot and Lisa Theriot (otherwise known in the SCA as Sir Kenneth MacQuarrie of Tobermory and Mistress Adelaide de Beaumont) in Concert from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Anyone who has seen them play live can tell you what a fabulous show they put on. Their infectiously catchy songs filled with 3-part (at least!) harmony, along with their engaging personalities, make for an unforgettable evening. Their SCA hits include the songs “Agincourt,” Band of Brothers,” “Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight,” Harvest,” “Hallow’s Eve,” and “The Feast Song,” just to name a few.
Joining them on stage will be Samantha Moore (Lady Ambra Michelli) and Michele Buzbee (Lady Michele de Buzbee). Samantha has two CDs with Raven Boy Music (Songs From the White Hart and Iron Hart). Michele has begun her first CD with RBM, which we hope to feature at next years’ GW.
If you have not been to the Green Dragon, you’re in for a treat! The Green Dragon is a re-creation of a 15th Century tavern, built as “a public building where people could gather, talk, and listen to the Society’s wealth of talented musicians.” There are some great pictures of the Dragon on their Face Book page here.
If you still aren’t sure if you want to go, maybe hearing some of Ken and Lisa Theriot’s music will persuade you. You can hear that music here: Raven Boy Music mp3s.
See you there!

Happy drooling fan here: this was an AMAZING concert. The Green Dragon tavern is a marvel, and represents some of the best the SCA can be. And the music makes it even better. RBM totally ROCKED, and jumped from gorgeous 3-part harmonies to all-the-audience-part harmonies, with a magnificent thundering war-drum as well. Samantha’s voice can fill the tavern all by itself, and Kenneth and Adelaide had the entire audience singing along. I can’t wait for the next one!
