Since our largest market is the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), and people at SCA events are always looking for music from "bards," we thought that putting out a CD with the words "SCA" and "bard" on it would make good sense. The problem was that none of our artists had such a CD. So the Sampler was born. We put a mix of songs from the SCA artist we had on the label at the time (LIsa, Ken and Thomas) and put out the Raven Boy Music SCA Bards Sampler. We even put some "new" songs not previously recorded on it and two of them became hits ("Agincourt" and "The Feast Song"). BTW, those new songs will appear on Ken's new CD "Human History" due out in March 08....really;). Anyway, in 2005 we had 2 new artists on the label, Samantha and Baldwin, and decided to do a second sampler, called "Son of SCA Bards Sampler." Can "Bride of..." or "Sampler the Third" be far behind?
These are songs from available albums by Lisa (Mistress Adelaide de Beaumont), and Ken (Sir Kenneth MacQuarrie of Tobermory) Theriot, as well as Lord Thomas Bordeaux, plus a couple of songs from forthcoming CDs.
